Two successive defeats to Tottenham Hotspur in the position of the third rank approached Arsenal Premier League standings. However, Harry Redknapp remains optimistic his team will be safe from pursuit by the Gunners. Two weeks ago, Tottenham are still quite comfortable in third place. The Lilywhites ahead ten points clear of Arsenal at the bottom of them.
However, the last two games to change the situation. Tottenham lost 2-5 1-3 to Arsenal and Manchester United. By contrast, Arsenal's win over Tottenham in addition to also winning 2-1 at Liverpool headquarters. Ten-point margin was trimmed to four points only. In response to these conditions, Redknapp did not want to panic. He still believes the target to finish in third place will be achieved.
"We are still in pole position. I still want us to finish in third position," said Redknapp on Sky Sports. "Differences suddenly ten points to four points and we've got some tough games to play. We will go to Everton and we have an away game against Chelsea," he explained.
"Here will be tight, but I still prefer to be in our position right now than the position of Arsenal. We are four points clear and we still have a great opportunity," said the candidate for this England team manager. "I want to finish third, not fourth. I would be disappointed if we finish fourth. I will be more disappointed if we finish fifth," added Redknapp.
