Fergie happy with a 2-0 win over West Brom. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he was surprised his team could win the top of the Premier League standings from the hands of Manchester City with a one point advantage.
The position was obtained after the Red Devils a 2-0 win over West Brom at Old Trafford, while The Citizens defeated 1-0 at home to Swansea. United striker scored two goals of their flagship, Wayne Rooney. Even so, Fergie would not be elated. The Scot was warned that the competition is still a long way.
"This is a bonus that I did not think before. In this season, we did lose a lot of points. But, we should make sure to not lose more points than any opponent," said Ferguson told MUTV. "But, I do not care about our leadership position today. I am pleased that in just a few weeks ago, we left the five / seven points from them. Now, we are just one ahead."
